An expert in business valuation and financial risk management, Richard has over twenty-five years of experience in the finance industry, academia, and government, with more than fifteen years at the senior executive positions. His experience includes stints in the USA, China, France, and East Africa. Richard’s article on corporate valuation and risk management, published in the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance in 2018 is considered ground-breaking and its principles represent the epitome of good valuation of corporate innovation and risk management practices for global technology firms and financial institutions. An author of a book and several articles in leading finance journals, and creator of a seminal model for valuing intangible corporate assets, Richard is a frequent presenter at finance conferences around the world and has received the NASDAQ Stock Market Award, the Ross and Margie Butler Institute for International Understanding Award, the John C. Whitehead Foundation Fellowship, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund Fellowship, and Pace University Excellence in Research Award.
Richard obtained his PhD in Finance from the City University of New York (CUNY). He earned his MBA in Finance from Baruch College Zicklin School of Business, CUNY, a Master’s in Banking and Finance degree (Summa Cum Laude) from Giordano dell’Amore College, an affiliate of Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, and an undergraduate degree (Honors) in Statistics from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. Richard is a CFA charterholder and a certified FRM.
